How do we choose supplier of packaging

1.   As packaging is material protecting our products and at the same time carries information about them, future supplier is assessed from two aspects.

First assessed aspect is barrier characteristics of the proposed packaging as regards to packages and load capacity as regards to cardboards.

Second assessed aspect is its outward form after pressing as regards to polypropylene as well as to cardboards.

2.   Potential supplier of PP packages will be asked to present samples of actual production and will have to answer questions like – what material is the packaging made of, what kind of printing technique can be offered, what is the frequency in case of repeated deliveries, is a consignment possible, what is the minimum delivery amount, what are the preparation works like, etc.

3.   Cardboard supplier will have to answer similar questions to PP supplier but moreover there is aspect concerning cardboard design, load capacity according to our requirements, possibility of printing date and batch on the specified place at the cardboard, etc.

4.   If supplier is able to supply packaging according to our requirements and basic material specifications, he will receive a small amount of packaging for testing to prove his ability to deliver packaging meeting required quality in practice. Usually it is a smaller volume with simple printing while the same packaging is already produced by his competitor. This is just in case he would fail as a supplier.

5.   Delivered samples can be requested also without printing as long as we would like to test them practically on our wrapping machines.

6.   When the testing is successful, supplier will receive bigger and bigger orders from portfolio of packages of I.D.C. Holding,a.s. .

In both cases when selecting supplier of packages for I.D.C. Holding, a.s. there is necessary to meet an essential but not the only condition that is competitive price of course.
